These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CareerLedger ("we," "us," or "our"), including our website, platform, and all related services. Please read these Terms carefully before using CareerLedger.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CareerLedger, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services. If you are using CareerLedger on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Account Responsibilities
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
- You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account and use CareerLedger.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you upload, including LinkedIn profiles, GitHub data, and voice recordings.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use CareerLedger to:
- Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent career information.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your professional qualifications.
- Upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
- Use the platform for any unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the platform without our express written consent.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines without prior notice.
4. The Service
CareerLedger provides a platform that allows you to:
- Upload career data from LinkedIn, GitHub, and voice recordings to create an AI-powered chatbot that represents your professional background.
- Share a unique link or embed a widget so that hiring managers and other visitors can interact with your career chatbot.
- View analytics about conversations and engagement with your chatbot.
We strive to keep the service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time, with or without notice.
5. Intellectual Property
- Your content — You retain ownership of all career data, voice recordings, and other content you upload to CareerLedger. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the CareerLedger service.
- Our platform — The CareerLedger platform, including its design, code, features, branding, and documentation, is owned by CareerLedger and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our written consent.
- AI-generated responses — Responses generated by your chatbot are derived from the data you provide. While we facilitate the generation of these responses, you are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of the underlying data.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
CareerLedger offers both free and paid subscription plans.
- Paid subscriptions are billed through LemonSqueezy. By subscribing, you agree to LemonSqueezy's terms of service and payment processing policies.
- Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and it will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- CareerLedger is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
- We do not warrant that AI-generated chatbot responses will be accurate, complete, or free from errors. Users should verify the accuracy of information presented by their chatbot.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or employment opportunities.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from or relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to CareerLedger in the twelve months preceding the claim.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CareerLedger, its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
9. Termination
- You may terminate your account at any time through your Settings page. Account deletion is subject to a 30-day grace period as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
- Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. We may delete your data in accordance with our data retention policies.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which CareerLedger operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules, unless prohibited by local law.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify you by email or through the platform. Your continued use of CareerLedger after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
